invest in your life

Invest: Actively participate in the life you desire

It’s time to stop being a victim and start being an active member in your own life. Invest in your choices, in people and in your time. Imagine you are driving a car and you feel no need to steer the wheels or engage the gears, would you reach your destination?
What if you don’t know where the destination is?  Does that mean you should leave the car to drive itself? Definitely not! Even when the path is unclear, you still need to make concerted effort to stay on the road.

Stay on the road!

Investing ensures that you do not drift aimlessly. Each time you identify a cause to pursue, a place where your passion is executed, you have a chance to participate in the future. Investing keeps you anchored to a course and helps you stay aligned long enough to determine where the right path is. You can always switch path if you are on the road but that may be hard if you leave your life’s vehicle to just drift and swerve aimlessly.
Invest in what?

This is not just about money and how you spend it.

It’s also about the people you associate with and where you spend the larger chunk of your time. Keep these three in mind:
1. Time

2. People

3. Energy
If you can invest the three listed things above in the right places, you are more likely to come out stronger and better. You have a greater chance of participating in your growth and shape your own future. Living a designed life involves active participation in your own life.

ant philosophy

The Ant Philosophy 1: Resilience is the art of never quitting

One phenomenal thing about ants is their resilience. As a child I was very observant and if I was bored enough I would set traps for working ants (lol). Have you ever tried stopping an ant from going somewhere? Its so fascinating because if you block a path, they look for another one… If you block the new path, they go around it.

They never stop searching for new paths, they never get tired of doing what they’ve been called to do. I use the word Called because the ant was created for a purpose. An ants purpose on earth is defined clearly and the ant itself knows it…that’s why an ant does everything to live that purpose. The worker ant was created to serve the colony so it does that till its death.

THE ANT NEVER GIVES UP

The number 1 ant philosophy is to never QUIT. If one path closes, look for another path. If one door closes, surely there’s another one to swing open. That means in your pursuit, in life, in your relationships. its important not to quit.
Ants never quit. If they’re headed somewhere and you try to stop them, they’ll look for another way. They’ll climb over. Sometimes, they’ll climb under. They’ll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What a neat philosophy; to never quit looking for a way to get where you’re supposed to go”~ Jim R.
The essential lesson is your ability to keep going no matter who or what tries to stop you. There are paths everywhere…start searching for those new paths.

How A Creation Box Can Work For You

Bring to mind a time when you decided that you wanted something in your life; a vacation, a special book, or a household item. Did you notice that things relating to what you were wanting appeared out of nowhere–either you overheard someone talking about it, noticed an advertisement, a billboard or even junk mail? This, my friends, is the power of the Law of Attraction at work. The Law of Attraction states that all forms of matter and energy are attracted to that which is of a like vibration. “Like attracts like.” The thoughts we hold attract similar thoughts and become large masses of thoughts. These thoughts are also called vibrations.

I have been following the teaching of Abraham-Hicks, (one of the teachers of The Law of Attraction) for many years, and have adopted many of the suggestions offered from his work. Here is Abraham’s explanation of vibration.

If you’re wondering what you are vibrating, observe your life. It’s a perfect match. What you are living is what you are vibrating, without exception. So, if you’ve got something that you don’t want, identify what it is within your vibration that is giving it to you. The Law of Attraction is powerful, and whatever you are vibrating, the Universe will match.

One of the powerful tools I use from the Abraham teachings is the Creation Box. A Creation Box is simply a box or container where you store symbols, pictures, or descriptions, of your desires. Your Creation Box can be any size, shape, or color–it is for you to enjoy and have fun with. A Creation Box helps you purify your vibration; in other words, you become more focused on the desire you put in it. Fill your Creation Box with pictures you tear out of magazines, sketches, doodles, or special notes that describe what you want. As you begin to play with your Creation Box, you will be knocked over by the speed and efficiency with which the Law of Attraction responds to the desires you have placed in your box.

Whatever you are focusing on, be it real or imagined, causes you to vibrate–and that vibration is what the Law of Attraction accepts as your point of attraction. The Law of Attraction does not know or care why you are vibrating–it only responds to your vibration. You get more of what you want and you get more of what you don’t want. The Creation Box process helps you to think, feel, and vibrate MORE of what you desire. I’ve been using a Creation Box since 1995, placing into it things that I want while remembering that the key here is not to become attached to how it will come to me.

Recently, a friend of mine noticed my Creation Box in my home and was curious about its purpose and contents. After explaining its purpose, I opened it up to share some of the special things I wanted to manifest. To my delight, I realized that a number of magazine clippings and notes of things I had desired had already come to me!

I hosted a Creation Box building party at my home and each of us created a special box for our dreams and desires. I invite you to prepare your special Creation Box with your friends and family and watch your desires come to you in ways you couldn’t have imagined.

celebrity lifestyle is about your mind

7 Celebrity lifestyle tips on how to be the best version of yourself

I seem to lost count on how many times I’ve read and heard of celebrity marriages failing almost left and right. It seems strange that we often see movie and TV stars as flawless people, living the fairytale life of riches and glamor. I suppose we all have to stop sticking our heads in the clouds and face reality. The reality is that we are all celebrities and we just need to live in that consciousness.

There are many ways to lose your sense of self-esteem regardless of how trivial it could get. You can always develop a whole new perspective to who you are and celebrate yourself. This is what makes you stand out.

So what does it take to be a cut above the rest?

1. Know your purpose

Are you wandering through life with little direction – hoping that you’ll find happiness, health, and prosperity? Identify your life purpose or mission statement and you will have your own unique compass that will lead you to your truth north every time.

This may seem tricky at first when you see yourself to be in a tight or even dead end. But there’s always that little loophole to turn things around and you can make a big difference to yourself.

2. Know your values

What do you value most? Make a list of your top 5 values. Some examples are security, freedom, family, spiritual development, learning. As you set your goals – check your goals against your values. If the goal doesn’t align with any of your top five values – you may want to reconsider it or revise it.

The number shouldn’t discourage you, instead, it should motivate you to do more than you can ever dream of.

3. Know your needs

Unmet needs can keep you from living authentically. Take care of yourself. Do you have a need to be acknowledged, to be right, to be in control, to be loved? There are so many people who lived their lives without realizing their dreams and most of them end up being stressed or even depressed for that matter. List your top four needs and get them met before it’s too late!

4. Know your passions

You know who you are and what you truly enjoy in life. Obstacles like doubt and lack of enthusiasm will only hinder you, but will not derail your chance to become the person you ought to be. Express yourself and honor the people who have inspired you to become the very person you wanted to be.

5. Live from the inside out

Increase your awareness of your inner wisdom by regularly reflecting in silence. Commune with nature. Breathe deeply to quiet your distracted mind. For most of us city people, it’s hard to even find the peace and quiet we want even in our own home. In my case, I often just sit in a dimly lit room and play some classical music. There’s sound, yes, but music does soothe the savage beast.

6. Honor your strengths

What are your positive traits? What special talents do you have? List three – if you get stuck, ask those closest to you to help identify these. Are you imaginative, witty, good with your hands? Find ways to express your authentic self through your strengths. You can increase your self-confidence when you can share what you know to others.

7. Serve others

When you live authentically, you may find that you develop an interconnected sense of being. When you are true to who you are, living your purpose and giving of your talents to the world around you, you give back in service what you came to share with others -your spirit – your essence. The rewards for sharing your gift with those close to you is indeed rewarding, much more if it were to be the eyes of a stranger who can appreciate what you have done to them.

Self-improvement is indeed one type of work that is worth it. It shouldn’t always be within the confines of an office building, or maybe in the four corners of your own room. The difference lies within ourselves and how much we want to change for the better.

Take action immediately, start out on an Academy course with Designed life. We look forward to bringing you closer to the best you can ever be. Check out academy courses. Click here.

cheap acne removal secrets

8 Cheap natural secrets that remove Acne Scars

There are several ways of removing acne scars. The appearance of acne starts during puberty when the body actively produces hormones that causes too much sebum in the skin. This skin stage may pass but it would definitely leave marks to haunt your appearance forever. Treating acne scars can be done through natural and cheap methods. The methods described here are a lot cheaper compared to dermatological procedures that would probably cost a lot. However, acne scar treatment still depends on the mildness and severity of the scar.

Below are some of the techniques on removing acne scars naturally:

1. Hydration is the key. It has been proven that water is one of the best natural methods for removing acne scars and prevent acne breakouts. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water or more helps your skin to shed those unwanted dead skin cells.

2. Use Vitamin E capsule for those scars. You might apply it topically to the affected area by pricking a spot in the capsule and apply the oil to the scar. Another option is to take it orally to have that cell renewal from the inside.

3. Rosehip seed oil is also an effective remedy This is an anti-aging and anti-wrinkling oil which helps the skin to regenerate. Massage it on the scar twice a day.

4. Eating a balance diet. The more nutritious foods you include in your meal, the faster the scar will heal. It helps in building the skin cells and gives a healthy skin glow as well.

5. Combine rose water and sandal wood paste. Apply it on the spot where the scars are. Leave it overnight then rinse with cold water the next day.

Apart from the natural ways of removing acne scars, there are also dermatological procedures that would definitely give the same results. However, pregnancy and other health conditions might hinder undergoing some of them.

Here is a list of our favorite ones:

6. Dermabrasion is the removal of the top skin layer using a machine that chafes off the skin. Once the skin heals, the top layer will then have a smoother and clearer appearance.

7. Laser resurfacing is one of the most affordable anti-scar treatments available. It simply uses a high-energy light that would remove the fine scars and even prevent wrinkles.

8. Chemical peel is just like dermabrasion the only difference is that the top layer of the skin is peeled off using chemicals not machines. This is not a very advisable procedure since some people may have allergic reactions to the chemicals.

It’s your choice whether you would opt for the natural way or the dermatological way of acne scar reduction.

tough times and bouncing back

Times are hard, so what do you do to bounce back up?

Life happens. It doesn’t matter how positive an attitude you have or how balanced and centered you are, there are going to be times when you are knocked down. Times when your carefully organized life is turned upside down and you get knocked on your rear end. Life happens.

You will no doubt experience serious illness in either yourself or someone close to you. You may be challenged with the loss of a loved one, a divorce or perhaps the loss of a job or any number of situations that will leave you feeling like you were kicked in the stomach.

Let’s face it. These things will happen. They’re part of life and no matter how you try to explain them away with the idealist, “everything happens for a reason” quote, they hurt. A lot! They hurt at the very core of your being. The pain begins in your heart and radiates throughout your entire being. Repeating positive phrases does not make it stop hurting.

What You Should Expect in these times

In times like these, you’re going to feel down, even depressed. You probably feel anger or some other manifestation of your pain. Whatever you’re feeling, it’s ok. It’s ok to feel hurt, sad, angry or whatever your true feelings are. You cannot deny pain any more than can deny fear. The only way through either of them is to give yourself permission to feel the feeling.

The question is not whether or not you will feel down. The question is for how long will you stay in this state?

The difference between people who get through life’s challenging moments, regardless of the seriousness, and those who are immobilized by the events is what I call the “Bounce factor.”

How quickly can you bounce back?

Of course, the severity of the event will have a lot to do with the time it will take you to get past the pain and on with your life.

Take the example of two people being downsized from their high technology jobs, something that is becoming a natural occurrence these days. One, whom we’ll call John, is floored by the news of his dismissal. He expresses his pain by becoming angry at the company, his co-workers and the system in general. He spends his days telling anyone who’ll listen, about his “problem.” Usually from a bar stool.

As he sees it, his life is ruined and he’s blaming everyone for his troubles. People who react like John spend weeks, even months, wallowing in despair until, if they’re fortunate, someone close to them convinces them to seek professional help.

Mary, on the other hand, reacts much differently. Although she has gone through the same experience as John and has pretty much the same issues like living expenses, etc., she chooses to react differently.

After a brief period of feeling a loss of self-esteem, self-pity, and anger, Mary decides to get back in the game. She begins contacting her network of colleagues and co-workers, avails herself of the outplacement services her former employer offered everyone and starts actively looking for a new position. In a short time, Mary finds her “dream job” with an exciting new company.

While both people in our hypothetical example had the same experience and both went through a period of hurting, the time each allowed themselves to remain in that disempowering state was vastly different. While John remained “stuck” in his problem, Mary handled her loss and moved on with her life.

This is the key.

It’s not whether life occasionally puts you into a tailspin, it’s how long you remain there.

When something devastating happens to you, allow yourself some time to grieve your loss, however, don’t allow yourself to get stuck there. Take some action. Join a support group, talk about your feelings with a trusted friend or your spiritual advisor. If necessary, seek professional help.

In the case of a job loss, perhaps you want to take some time to re-evaluate your career goals. You may even consider a change in fields. When you’re ready, you can begin networking and making new contacts. Attend social or church events. Call people you know. Do something!

One of the most important things to remember in high-stress situations is not to allow yourself to isolate. While spending some time alone is normal, even necessary, isolation can be dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Get out and be with people as soon as possible. As a friend recently reminded me, “life is for the living.” It’s important to get back to your life. In time, the pain will pass.

balancing breasts and bust lines

What To Do About Uneven Breasts, Get your balanced bust line game on

All women have uneven breasts, but as much as 45% have noticeable breast size difference. This means a half cup size or more that is sometimes noticeable even under clothing. Designed Life is all about balance and discussing the issues that lead to lopsided breasts and what to do about it is our priority in today’s article.

Let’s first discuss some underlying reasons why this happens.

Body alignment. You should aim at getting a perfectly aligned body so that Muscles and fat are more equally built up. Think how perfectly the body of a baby or toddler is formed. As we grow older, environmental stress, sleep patterns, posture, injury, and disease can cause the body to go out of alignment. This results in over or under development of muscles, and uneven distribution of fluids and fat.

Right or left-hand dominance. Most women will find that the larger breast is on the side of their dominant hand. This is due to the muscles of the arm and pectoralis majors and minors getting a larger share of the work load. Lifting, pushing, pulling, think of all you do in a day’s work. I knew of a young lady that worked at my favorite ice cream shop that had to quit her job because of extreme over development from scooping the cold, hard ice cream.

Breast Feeding. No matter how hard we try to feed evenly on both sides either junior or mom tends to prefer one side over another. This can result in uneven breasts even long after the breast feeding has ceased.

And sometimes it just happens.

If you suspect alignment issues, visit a chiropractor and find an exercise program that carefully balances the whole body. If you believe that a dominant side is to blame, try doing more with the opposite side to balance the muscle development. Sometimes uneven breasts will balance out with time. If it is something else, you can either try enlarging the smaller breast or reduce the larger breast. You can have a breast size adjustments done effectively without surgery and for a minimal price.

Enlarging the smaller breast without surgery may take several weeks. You will see faster results with reducing the larger breast, which can be done in just a couple of weeks. This is done by doing a body wrap on the larger breast only. You can get it professionally done from an experienced esthetician or you can do it on your own at home.

Choosing the right body wrap

There are several excellent body wraps available for home use. There are the oil based wraps that use essential oils as detoxifiers and are very effective. One that I recommend is an aloe based gel with herbs. To use, the skin should be clean with no residue from bar soaps or moisturizers to interfere with the absorption. Warm the area to be treated to open the pores and allow the gel to penetrate faster. This can be done in a warm shower or you can use a warm moist towel. Apply the gel and wrap the breast loosely with plastic wrap. This is to hold in the heat and keep the gel moist. You can put on your clothing and go about your business or just relax for 45 to 60 minutes. Then remove the plastic and rub any still moist gel into the skin. What this does is to help detoxify the tissues, and move fluid into the lymph system. Drinking plenty of water after the treatment will help to flush out the toxins.

After only a couple treatments to the larger breast you should be able to see a significant difference in size. The breast is very responsive to this type of wrap so be careful. Sometimes the results aren’t noticed for a day or two so never do more than two treatments a week so as to carefully monitor inch loss.

Happy Balancing!

8 Tips to Save Money on Groceries

The average family’s grocery bill is usually one of the higher numbers on the family budget. There can be an enormous difference in what each family spends on their groceries, depending on many factors, such as whether they buy organic, kosher, Gluten free, more meat, etc.

shopping-list-2044706_1920

The good news is that this allows for a large amount of savings if we decide to be frugal with our shopping. Following a few simple tips will have you well on your way to saving a few bucks.

1.) Make a meal plan. You’ll know exactly what you need from the store before you go.

2.) Watch for specials and coupons in store newsletters, and plan your meals around them.

3.) Make a list and stick to it. If it’s not on the list, don’t buy it.

4.) Don’t shop when you’re hungry. That way you won’t be tempted to buy things that you don’t need.

5.) Shop alone. Count on your bill being higher when you bring your spouse or children.

6.) Only buy things you know you’ll use. For example, if your family doesn’t like broccoli, don’t buy broccoli in the hopes that they’ll eat healthier this week.

7.) Keep your eyes on the items on the bottom shelf where the prices are lower.

8.) Buy store brands when the quality is the same. Most of the time, it actually is the same product in a different package.

It’s pretty easy to be frugal once you realize how much money you’re actually saving with these simple steps. Keep a log of your grocery bills, so you can see how much of a difference you are making.
